NYC Sports Person: Sean Rice – Prospect Park Youth Running Club

Sean Rice was born and raised in Brooklyn where he ran track for Bishop Ford High School and then Long Island University. He was a New York City public school teacher since 1993 and is now a Principal at the High School for Public Service: Heroes of Tomorrow in Crown Heights. He founded the Prospect Park Youth Running Club in 2007 and is also the director of The Running School, a cross country and track and field summer camp in the Catskills.

Jordan Baltimore, a native New Yorker, is founder and director of training programs at New York Empire Baseball. Empire has developmental teams for players 4-10 years old and travel teams at the 9u – 16u levels. Empire, which also runs after-school programs, position specific training and camps, is opening a new facility, The Arena, on the Upper West Side.

Billy Dransfield grew up on Long Island and has been playing and coaching lacrosse for over 25 years. In addition to running City Stars Lacrosse, he is the Assistant Director of Athletics and the Head Lacrosse Coach at The Allen-Stevenson School on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. He is US Lacrosse Level One and Level Two Coaching Certified.

NYC Sports Person: Asphalt Green’s Nicolas Blanco

Nicolas Blanco was born in Bronx, NY and attended St. Raymond HS. He was signed as a free agent out of the Mexican league by the Kansas City Royals and spent three years in the Minor Leagues. He joined Asphalt green in 2011 and has been coaching travel teams along with various sport classes.
